We're delighted to be back with - hopefully - a physical AGM rather than an online event as in 2021. This year we're being very kindly hosted by Chester Zoo and we're looking forward to a great meeting.
The meeting itself will run from 1pm to 5pm and will include three great talks along with the AGM itself:
Achmad Arienfiandy (Komodo Survival Program) on in situ work with Komodo Dragons - Komodo Survival Program
Suzie Simpson (BHS Trustee) giving an update on the nationwide Turtle Tally project - Turtle Tally
Dr. Gerardo Garcia ( Curator Lower Vertebrates and Invertebrates, Chester Zoo) - Update on Chester's current herptile conservation and breeding programs
The meeting is free to BHS members and is open to non-BHS members for a small charge of £10.00.
Additionally, BHS members have the option to also book on to ONE of three different `behind the scenes' tours in the zoo, which will run in the morning from 10.30 am in parallel :
POD Containers - Amphibians + Reptiles + Snails
Komodo Dragons and Ploughshare Tortoises
Monsoon Forest
Maximum numbers for each of these guided tours are strictly limited for space, practical and safety reasons - so don't delay booking!
To book either for the AGM only or the AGM plus one of the tours (if places available) , please select the correct ticketing option - the Member rates and options will only be visible to someone logged in to the website as a BHS member. In the event of any difficulty logging in, please contact .
The AGM is being held in the zoo lecture theatre, a few minutes walk from the zoo entrance. The tours will also start from the lecture theatre at 10.30 am and return there, before the start of the meeting. The meeting will include two servings of refreshments, the first from 12.30 - 1pm on arrival and a second one during a break. Full details of how to get to the lecture theatre, where to park etc will be sent to all attendees before the day.
We look forward to seeing you on the day at Chester zoo!
