Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 29th March at the Natural History Museum, London between 1pm and 5pm.
As well as the normal Society business (which doesn't take too long!) we have two great talks planned:
Dr Nicholas Casewell - Serpent genomics: investigating key snake related adaptations - venom, metabolism and loss of limbs
Prof. Mark Wilkinson - Caecilians: The Final Frontier
The museum is free entry and admission to the meeting is free for BHS members or prospective members. Note that you shouldn't need to queue for museum entry - advise museum staff on the door that you're attending the BHS AGM and they should wave you through and bypass the normal, lengthy queue. (It may be helpful to carry a printed copy of the Agenda with you as evidence if needed.)

There are a number of Council vacancies which we would like to fill - we normally try and confirm new Council members in post at the AGM but we do have mechanisms to enable people to take up Council posts between AGMs if necessary.
Full Council (Trustee) vacancies at the AGM will be:
- Chairman (Nominee Chris Gleed-Owen)
- Treasurer
- Meetings Organiser
- Website Editor
- Trade Officer (Nominee John Coote)
- Ordinary member x 2
In addition we are seeking someone to fill a new Secretariat non-Trustee post - duties will be to support the Treasurer and Secretary in their work.
All posts are voluntary but Council members can reclaim travelling expenses for attending meetings.
If you're interested in standing for any of these posts please check the relevant information about the role on the website and contact the Secretary for any further information and / or details of how to stand. We'd be delighted to welcome new faces onto Council!
